🌞 Summer holidays are just around the corner...

For parents, this means a change in routine, extra energy in the house and the inevitable, non-stop question: "Mum, what can I eat?"

As a mother of two young girls, keeping my family fuelled with nutritious whole foods is always a priority, but it becomes a challenging mission during the summer school holidays.

For me, healthy eating isn't about restriction, it's about returning to basics - cooking from scratch and making conscious choices at the grocery shop.

Whenever I pick up a new product, the first thing I do is turn it over and read the ingredient list. My rule of thumb? Avoid ultra-processed foods, as much as possible, and choose organic, clean, natural and recognisable ingredients.

This isn't just a personal choice for my family, it’s a mindset I live by every day at work. As a Sales Manager Marigold Health Foods, I’m constantly defending the value of clean labels and natural products. I see first-hand how much transparency matters in our industry and I love bringing that exact same ethos back into my own kitchen to build lasting, healthy habits for my family.

It takes a little extra effort to prepare meals from scratch and scrutinise labels but, knowing exactly what goes into my daughters' bodies, is worth every second.

To all the parents out there getting ready for the summer break: How do you balance convenience with nutrition when the kids are out of school? 🍏πŸ₯•
